For everyone that missed this one, this board has a RSS feed, there's only no visible link.

Go to the following URL and everything is explained there.

http://www.clubstylus.be/phpBB2/smartfeed_url.php

But it works a lot better then the email thingy.

For the people having a Yahoo account, you even can add the feed to "my Yahoo"

Also the blogs have RSS feeds and also the main clubstylus page. So if you add them all to a RSS client or the "my yahoo" page you always know when somehting has changed or has been added.

Werner

I just log in and look through all the posts only takes a minute. I think it would be different if the pc was always on.

I prefer to look at this site each time I log on rather than receive emails.

RSS is not the email thingy. It's intended for use in a RSS reader program or website with RSS feed option like iGoogle and Yahoo personal page.

hmm, some education needed :P

from wikipedia:
RSS (formally "RDF Site Summary", known colloquially as "Really Simple Syndication") is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a "feed", "web feed", or "channel", contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually.

RSS content can be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader" or an "aggregator". The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed's link into the reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds.

The initials "RSS" are used to refer to the following formats:

* Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)

I use mozilla thunderbird to read the RSS feeds from this site, and find it very useful.

In fact, web-based forums are a pet-peeve of mine, and if it wasn't for the RSS feed on this site, I probably wouldn't use it.

I use feedreader and use it at work, this way I don't have to open the browser to check.

The reason I ask is that I wan't to upgrade the board, but the RSS plugin is still in development for it.

So will wait untill it gets released.
