and about ur Registration problem in Germany.....

Theres an EU Law wich says, if u import a Car from an EU Country to another, and it was allready registered there, they need to give u a registration.
This is how u get Special permissions about emission. Happens to me on my second Stylus Classic. The Problem is that most of the german (Dekra/Tüv) dont know about this.


.....so the Registration of this Car wasnt illegal

as the homologation process in germany is done by TÜV (west germany) and DEKRA (east germany) , it seems that those 2 institiutons have 2 different ways in doing their jobs.

i know what you mean, but this is only valid for production cars which have passed a harmonoized approval procedure accepted from all member states.

as such low quantity manufacturers (e.g. basically all kitcar manufacturers) have not gone through such a approval procedure (even the british government has intervented for certain european-law reasons the IVA-test) the member states must not accept those cars. and this cannot be claimed!!

additionally the emission exemption "may" be given, but cannot be claimed, too.

the interesting thing is that there are certain bike engined kitcars on german roads and the majortiy has passed the local homologation procedure in east germany with dekra, and a majority of those cars have gone through the hands of 1 dealer...... 8)

if you sell the car to a different province in germany, the local vehicle licensing authority may accept the registration documents, but you cannot claim it....and thats again due to the emission-exemption.

fact is: a 2005 reg-date cannot be homolgated legally in germany!!!
