Re: My Brexit

Take the thermpstat out , remove that silly metal sphere and it's tag then drill out that hole to 8mm , more if needed as you experiment . It will ensure there's always a water flow even while waiting to warm up from cold . Essential with a modified engine

Re: MSA compliant rollbar

If you mean the rear chassis rail where the trailing arms locate then yes you can easily make 30 degrees, as I have said before it means that you need to put 2 slots in the boot lid, cut out the rear boot floor, fabricate and weld on the rear stays mounting points to the chassis cross member etc. I...

Re: MSA compliant rollbar

I learn't via a reply from Michael Duncan , at the MSA regs tech dept , that even if your chassis extends beyond the roll hoop rearwards , you can still use forward facing struts onto an appropriate chassis point . HOWEVER ----- it clarifies that MSA reg by saying '' only if it isn't possible to mak...

Re: MSA compliant rollbar

Yesterday , I was marshalling at Castle Combe and had a look around the paddock at various car's cages and rear 30 degree stays . A Pheonix had a main hoop with no rear stays , which I know are not compulsory where no rear chassis is available to mount them. The rops regs then allow forward stays at...

Re: My Brexit

The original engine mounts were not reinforced properly , mine cracked on the driver's side . I removed both , webbed the plates and it's been no problem since 2004

Re: 175-60-13 tyres

11 in dampers 7 in springs front -- 15 in dampers 9 in springs rear (8 in if track comp) These dampers will allow you to maintain piston travel in bump as you lower/adjust ride height/rake . The rear trailing arms need to be , either the original dipped arms or my own design , that allow the same 15...

Re: 175-60-13 tyres

Car weighs 570kgs so 14 psi all round . When she weighed 650kgs tyre pressures were 17 psi . To answer your question directly , I wouldn...

Re: Tunbidge Wells motor club Goodwood sprint 23rd Sept

Great weather today at Goodwood , nice dry , sunny grippy circuit. A 111.98secs practice , about like last year's PB (a touch slower) . First timed run I pushed really hard trying to top 110 sec's and amazed to get 109.74 sec's . Didn't believe I could beat that then sitting there after lunch analys...
